Thame
Bears was founded by Teddy Bear artist David Stollery of Thame, England in 1994.
The teddy bears are designed and personally hand-crafted by the artist.
All of the teddy bears have a classical style of the traditional teddy bears
with long arms, pronounced snouts and a hump. David has also added his own
artistic interpretations to the classical design giving Thame Bears its unique
distinctive look. In keeping with the traditional concept of the teddy
bear, the "boy-ish" bears are undressed and fashioned with a classical
neck ribbon bearing an old or antique pin or coin.
Although
bears of the wild capture the fascination of bear lovers, all of David
Stollery's creation are tame bears. In the pronunciation of the town of
Thame, England, the "h" is silent. The homonym was too much to
bear!!!
